Blissful Seaside Estate Wedding, Maui | Kristin + Chris ♥

Kristin & Chris’s oceanfront Maui wedding was truly a dream come true! It was a picture perfect day outside, the sun was shining bright as wedding preparations began at Kukahiko Estate on Maui’s south side.

This Maui venue could not be located in a more beautiful location, right on the water it is one of the islands most private beach front wedding venues. It’s a small intimate venue with it’s own beach in front with volcanic lava rocks and white coral scattering the shore as the waves crash up. There is also a jetty nearby that makes for some dramatic and amazing shots as the waves crash high up against them. At the same times you can find turtles leisurely floating in the waters around.

As Kristin finished up getting ready, her two adorable daughters could not have been more excited to be flowers girls. They opened some very special gifts from Chris, each receiving a Hawaiian treasure to remember this most special day. And a hand written letter from Chris to Kristin which brought her to tears.

Chris used to live on Maui, and it was his dream to get married on the island. He was finally able to show Kristin the island and his love of Maui. Their Maui wedding officiant blew the conch shell as Kristin and her father walked into the ceremony with the Pacific glistening the the background. The ceremony was magical as they incorporated Hawaiian elements and a joining of their family together. After the ceremony guests enjoyed some refreshments before heading off to the Wailea Mariott Luau nearby.

A luau wedding reception is the perfect (and affordable!) way to have a laid back fun celebration with guests. It incorporates the Hawaiian culture, the food is incredible (Mahi Mahi & Kahlua pork, yes please!), and the Polynesian entertainment is awesome. Hula and fire dancers, and live drumming finished the night off for these lovebirds.

Beautiful Catholic Maui Wedding | Donna + Drew ♥

Donna & Drew’s Maui destination wedding was a dream come true! The wedding ceremony was held at Maria Lanakila Catholic Church in Lahaina Maui and the reception was just a few minutes away at Pacific’O Restaurant right on the beach front in Lahaina.

I first met Donna & Drew almost a year prior to their wedding for their engagement photos. We has so much fun taking pictures in the jungle and at the beach in Kapalua! So happy they chose us as their Maui engagement photographer. They were giggling and laughing the whole time, and I couldn’t wait to capture their special day.

Their wedding day could not have turned out more perfect. The girls and guys got ready in separate rooms at the Honua Kai in Ka’anapali. Donna looked stunning in her boho inspired dress complete with lacy arm sleeves to finish off the look. The guys had fun together getting ready and the groom wore a traditional Barong (a Barong Tagalog is a traditional Filipino long sleeve formal embroidered shirt) to celebrate Donna’s heritage.

The ceremony was held at the beautiful Maria Lanakila Catholic church in Lahaina, Maui. The stained glass windows and intricate details make this church one of Maui’s most beautiful to get married in. Not to mention the lighting is amazing inside for photos!

After the ceremony guests headed over to Pacific’O Restaurant for cocktail hour and the reception right on the oceanfront in Lahaina. This restaurant is perfect for a wedding reception as you can reserve the whole place for your party. They had about 85 guests at the wedding and everyone was seated nicely outside with views of the sunset and Lanai in the background.

Guests signed an ukulele “guest book” and enjoyed Mai Tai’s and White Claws as they nibbled on seared ahi and delicious passed appetizers. The rest of the night was a joy. After Donna’s father blessed the food, they enjoyed their meals as he sang them a special song. They danced and played a traditional Filipino game Syatong Chato which was tons of fun. For dessert they enjoyed a local favorite Hawaiian shave ice, the perfect way to cool down on a warm evening. It was truly a night to remember!
